A VERSATILE VOICE FOR YOUR CHARACTERS, YOUR CREATIONS, AND YOUR STORIES.
HELLO!
It’s me, your best friend Jackie! I’m an international type - Hong Kong born, Australian grown, and UK…planted? Australia was a great early stomping ground for me. I learned stuff. I threw myself into community and pro-am theatre. I did an 18 month tour as Frida in ARRIVAL AUSTRALIA (then ABBALIVE), one of Australia's favourite ABBA tribute shows. (They didn’t let me keep the go-go boots. Not over it.)
After a postgrad in Scriptwriting at Griffith Uni I thought, you know what’s better than Aussie weather? London weather. And I bought a one way ticket.
I was frankly startled to be accepted into the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama where I completed an MA in Music Theatre. I wrote my first musical, a modern feminist comedy called ‘Real Women', alongside awesome MD and composer Matthew Samer, took it back home and slapped it into the 2015 Queensland Cabaret Festival. I’m currently in the process of writing a new adult fantasy series, which is amazing fun, but let’s try and bring it back to acting.
Since 2018 I've been a regular on the Penny Peepshow podcast. I get to bring life to so many different characters and play around in wonderfully written stories, and I am so proud of it. I’m also one of the ‘Juliez’ in the comedy cabaret ‘What Would Julie Do’ which I love with my entire being. Alongside my professional voice over and theatre work, I’ve dabbled in stand-up comedy on London's open mic circuit (such fun!) and I’m active in my local community theatre.
Because I’m obsessed with finding the joy in life, I trained in long-form improv with London's largest improv school, the Free Association, and in my spare time I DM for my DnD group, watch horror films, and play a probably unhealthy amount of video games.
All this to say that when you work with me, you’re going to get the whole package: my experience, my joy, and my whole heart. Let’s tell some stories! ♡
